Honors of the Foundation Bestowed upon;
John I. Ladd, 33°
October 3, 2004

Illustrious Brother John I. Ladd, 33°, was the Foundation’s first recipient of this prestigious award. His meritorious service and dedicated leadership to the Foundation’s mission and vision over an extended period more than warranted this high honor. As a former Foundation Trustee and Pueblo Appraisal Committee member and as a devoted supporter of the Colorado RiteCare Childhood Language Program, he contributed immeasurably to the Foundation’s success. His many acts of service have all been squarely centered on charting the Foundation’s course in service to Colorado’s children with language disorders and their families.

Illustrious Brother Ladd’s nomination states:
“John has been a significant influence on the success of the Scottish Rite Foundation’s clinical programs throughout the state and especially in Pueblo. His contributions include service on the Board of Trustees of the Scottish Rite Foundation of Colorado, service on the Appraisal Committee of the Pueblo RiteCare Program, and liaison with The Children’s Hospital in the transfer of the program from Parkview Medical Center to The Children’s Hospital in 2000-2001. In this last regard, John provided use of his office for staff interviews, which enhanced the hospital’s ability to recruit qualified staff. Well into his 10th decade, John continues his strong support of the Colorado RiteCare programs with financial contributions to the Endowed Chair Campaign, annual meetings with the Kelley Family/Schlessman Family Scottish Rite Masons Chair in Childhood Language Disorders, and volunteer support to the Pueblo RiteCare Clinic. He not only shows keen interest in the Pueblo RiteCare program, he also offers active support to the Annual Holiday Party for children in that community. John’s family is also actively involved in the RiteCare Program; his wife Mildred volunteers at the Pueblo RiteCare Clinic on a regular basis.”
