Professional Qualifications of Speech-Language Pathologists

All services at the RiteCare Clinics in Colorado are provided by speech-language pathologists who are certified under the educational and clinical standards of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association. RiteCare speech-language pathologists have extensive training and experience in child development, speech and language disorders, and treatment techniques. Professional staff attend continuing education seminars and conferences to remain current with the most innovative treatment techniques and materials.

Speech-language pathologists possess a Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC). To earn this certification one must satisfy the following requirements:

  1. Hold either a Master's degree or a Doctoral degree in speech-language pathology.
  2. Complete a specified course of study in basic science.
  3. Complete a specified course of study in speech-language pathology.
  4. Complete a specified clinical observation/practicum and a clinical fellowship.
  5. Pass a national examination administered by the Educational Testing Service.
