Graduate Student Speech-Language Pathology Scholarships

In 2005 the Scottish Rite Foundation of Colorado initiated its graduate scholarship in speech-language pathology. This scholarship is named in honor of former Sovereign Grand Inspector General and President of the Foundation, Dwight A. Hamilton. It was his long held desire that the Foundation create a scholarship program to encourage graduate students to enter the field of speech-language pathology. Two $5,000 scholarships are awarded annually for students pursuing graduate work at the University of Colorado – Boulder or the University of Northern Colorado.

Beginning in 2003 and in consultation with the Scottish Rite Foundation of Colorado, the Colorado Masons’ Benevolent Fund Association initiated a graduate scholarship in speech-language pathology. The Association is a prominent charitable arm for the Most Worshipful Grand Lodge of Ancient Free and Accepted Masons of Colorado. The Association awards two $5,000 scholarships annually for students pursuing graduate work at the University of Northern Colorado. The Association has committed to fund this scholarship program through 2012 with a gift to the Scottish Rite Foundation of Colorado.

In addition, a national scholarship in speech-language pathology is offered by the Supreme Council of the Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite of Freemasonry for the Southern Jurisdiction. This scholarship is known as the Sam and Millie Hilburn Scholarship in the field of Childhood Language Disorders.
